Things have been very busy here at the Chandler Farm Headquarters in Colorado. We are working very hard to help make the product more readily available in all parts of the country. This summer you can expect to find our products on the shelf at Whole Foods Market in Northern California, Whole Foods Market in Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Alabama!
Currently you can find our products at various Whole Foods Market Stores in Colorado, All New Seasons Markets in Oregon, Akin's Natural Foods in the Mid-West, Chamberlin's Natural Foods in Florida, and Various Zoo's, Boutiques, and Independents. Please check our the "Shop" section of our website for a complete listing. Also, be sure to check our "Events" tab to get a complete listing of our Costco Special Events. Currently we are scheduling Events in Colorado, Arizona, California, Utah, and Washington. This list is always growing and changing, so if you don't see your neighborhood Costco on the list, check back and most likely you'll see it soon.
I believe the reason for our quick growth and national roll out is our great customer feedback and customer satisfaction. Daily I receive emails, phone calls, notes from stores, and feedback from our national reps complimenting our products. It's not uncommon to hear this phrase "You have the Best Products Available at The Best Price!". We take great pride in serving our customers, and know that our products are in fact The Best Products Available at The Best Price Available.

Chandler Farm in Costco
Greetings Friends of Chandler Farm!
Last week Chandler Farm began a series of Special Events with Costco. We are now finishing up our final weekend at the Superior, CO Costco, and preparing for the Sheridan, CO Costco and Aurora, CO Costco. This experience has been wonderful for our company. It has given us the opportunity to share our story and product with many individuals that we would not have had the opportunity to speak with before. Over the past week myself and several of our employees have spoken with people who have knowledge of the Palm Oil issue, and thanked us for our product and our mission. It was also noted by many that with these severe Colorado Dry Winters, our product was the only of many they have tried that can cure/soothe damaged dry skin. All of us at Chandler Farm are very proud of the fact that our products are felt to be of the highest quality possible.
Our introduction at Costco also brought new product launches for us!!! November 15, 2009 we introduced two new scents including:
Popi's Pomegranate and Knobi's Coconut & Banana. Both of the scents contain a Body Wash, Body Lotion, and Body Butter. I am a huge fan of the Pomegranate. It has such a beautiful warm and spicy fragrance. Since all of our fragrances are essential oils, you receive the benefits of antioxidants from the Pomegranate fruit. At Costco I met a lady who told me she ate one Pomegranate daily to keep her body healthy and young. She tried our Popi's Pomegranate Body Lotion and fell in love!!! She purchased a three pack of Pomegranate Body Lotion.
Many of the customers who have purchased our products at Costco are concerned with where they can purchase more once they run out. Because we are a Special Events Vendor with Costco, we will come and go throughout the year at various locations. Dates are currently unknown. I would like to ensure everyone that we are working on establishing relationships with National Retailers to ensure that our products are available in all regions of the US on a permanent basis. We will however always value our relationship with Costco, and hope to do many more events with them throughout the US. Orangutan Conference
Greetings Friends!
Last week Wilton, Ronna, and myself returned from Atlanta after attending the International Orangutan Conference. This was an amazing experience, and one that I believe left all of us inspired.
The conference gathered individuals from all around the world who are dedicated to finding a solution to the Orangutan Crisis. Willie Smits was the keynote speaker, and really gave us some insight into the reality of the situation in Indonesia. Currently, despite so many efforts Orangutans are being shot, killed, and orphaned for Palm Oil Plantations. It was difficult for us to hear of this devastation. One of the most moving parts of the conference was the viewing of the movie "Green". It is available for free download at http://greenfilm.free.fr/. The movie shows you the world of an Orangutan in a medical clinic. The movie has a very powerful message, and does a fine job of educating on the palm oil crisis.
The good news is... We are part of the solution to this problem. Purchasing Palm Oil Free products DOES make a difference. Giving money back to good organizations that promote education and conservation DOES help.

I want to dedicate this entry to the Environmental Cost of Palm Oil. Chandler Farm in partnership with The Phelps Great Ape Foundation has been preparing a power point presentation for the upcoming Orangutan Conference at Zoo Atlanta. The point of our presentation is to outline the importance of a Palm Oil Free Lifestyle. This presentation has taken so much research, and collaboration with The Phelps Great Ape Foundation.
Some of the points we are discussing include-
1. What products contain Palm Oil?
2. Why do people use Palm Oil?
3. What is the Real Cost of Palm Oil use?
Discussion on Points-
1. Palm Oil is found in Food, Bio-Fuel, and Body Care Products. I have seen palm oil disguised in ingredients in foods like Milk, Snack Cookies, and Potato Chips.
2. Palm Oil is used because it is Inexpensive, Renewable, and has uses as a Trans Fat Substitute, and Fossil Fuel Alternative.
3. The Environmental Cost of Palm Oil Use is Devastating. Never have I seen such devastation, cruelty, and impact on an ecosystem. Miles and miles of forest are clear cut, displacing animal life and creating higher carbon emissions than fossil fuel use. One example of displaced animal life is the Orangutan. Since deforestation is occurring at an accelerated rate, the Orangutan is now critically endangered, and could be extinct from the wild in as soon as 10 years. Clear cut forests are replaced with Palm Oil plantations, farming palm oil for the use of manufacturing various products. Orangutans that trespass on these farms are generally slaughtered. The impact on the ecosystem is devastating.
Fortunately there are good people doing good things. Conservation efforts are in full swing, and education of Palm Oil use is happening all around the world. The Orangutan Conference at Zoo Atlanta is really a collaboration of informed individuals concerned and passionate about the Orangutan Crisis. I will keep you informed as we learn new information, and new ways of helping to contribute to the solution.
In the meantime, avoid products that contain palm oil. It is a great way to start!

This past weekend I had a great conversation with one of our customers during a special event. When explaining about all of the natural quality ingredients in our products, she seemed skeptical. She grabbed a bottle and began studying the ingredients, and was impressed to learn that Organic Aloe Vera was our second ingredient in all of the products.
